Last night, everyone at camp came down to Granite Grove in their best Hawaiian shirts and leis to celebrate the end of an incredible Session 3 at GAC! Enjoy the highlights below!

Priority Enrollment for our returning camp families starts today for next summer!
Our Priority Enrollment period runs from August 1 – September 15, 2019. While only returning families are allowed to enroll during this period, we cannot guarantee your first choice session.
Some age groups (typically grades 5-9) will fill within the first few days or weeks of the Priority Enrollment period.
To ensure you are able to enroll in your first choice session for 2020, register on or soon after August 1, 2019!
Get to know Pumba, our 2019 Land Program Director! Gold Arrow Camp’s land programs include axe throwing, mountain biking, arts & crafts, shotgun, riflery, gacting and archery.
“Big Campfire” is a highlight of the session for campers here at GAC. At Big Campfire, each cabin group performs a skit, song, or dance. The evening provides a fun opportunity for kids to work together to provide a fun, entertaining performance for the community.
Our younger campers (Bears & Tigers) celebrated Big Campfire on Saturday evening, and our older kids (Lions & Eagles) had their Big Campfire on Monday evening. Here are a few highlights from this session’s Big Campfires:
Gold Arrow Camp’s robust climbing programs include team building, high ropes course, vertical playpen, zipline, giant’s ladder, and rock climbing (on our natural granite rock course). Kinder and Comet are heading up our ropes and rocks team this year!
Session 3 campers have had a super spirited, fun session so far. The singing has been loud and the dancing ubiquitous! We are also doing a whole lot of bucket filling. A highlight of the first week of Session 3 was celebrating Camp Kindness Day.
One of our favorite ways to fill each other’s buckets has been writing WOWs. Each morning at assembly, Cheerio reads a few of the WOWs from the previous day, and then all of the notes are delivered in the camp mail. WOWs are a fun camp tradition that reminds us to thank, compliment, and celebrate each other. On Camp Kindness Day (July 23, 2019), campers and staff wrote a record-setting 232 WOWs!
Our daily podcast features campers and staff talking about what’s happening at GAC. Campers (usually with their cabin group) serve as hosts for our daily update, which is usually recorded right after Morning Assembly. You can listen or subscribe here.
Today’s Whadda Day featured our youngest 5 Year Campers (Bears & Tigers)!
A new and fun addition to morning assembly 2019 has been the “Stat of the Day.” Each day, Soy and the other hosts present a stat challenge question. Each cabin group can put one guess into the yellow “Stat of the Day” box. The winning guess gets the special “Stat of the Day” trophy on their dining table for the next day. A few of the fun stat questions this week included how many emails came in to campers on one day and how many boats there are at GAC.
We love having special celebrations here at camp. They give us an excuse to dress up (or stay in our jammies) or just get a little crazy. Here are a few picture & video highlights from some of this week’s special events:
We’ve got more fun planned for the second week of Session 3 including International Day (Tuesday), the Hawaiian Dance (Thursday), the Paddle Campfire Ceremony for our graduating campers (Thursday after the dance), and our end-of-session celebration banquet and Appreciation Campfire (Friday).
We’re also going to be focusing on some important friendship skills, including asking questions & listening, staying calm, and being a great friend.
The second week of the session always flies by here at GAC, and we are going to make the most of our time together by remembering to have fun, make friends, and grow!
Be sure to download the Campanion App if you want to view photos and keep up with this week’s news on your phone!
Today was carnival day at GAC! Ring toss, cotton candy, splash zone, nachos! As always, this afternoon was a blast for all campers and staff!
We know you love our daily photos from camp! This weekend, due to the visitors at Huntington Lake for this week’s regatta, our internet service is extremely slow. Although we will continue attempting to upload today and tomorrow’s photos, there will be a delay due to our slow-as-molasses weekend internet.
Enjoy your weekend and rest assured that we will have MANY photos to share with you once our normal upload speed is resumed.
Friday was Crazy Cranium Day, and we had some wild headgear, wacky hairdos and all-around crazy craniums! See some pictures and the video below for a look at the fun!
Much socializing and fun was had at this week’s Tigers Bingo! Tigers are our campers heading into 5th and 6th grades.
